PROFILE
GHB Landscape Architects consists of three principal architects and 15 permanent employees. Together we form a strong team, which covers the entire spectrum of our profession. Our field of activity ranges from urban planning to landscape architecture and design. We deal with the entire process of our projects, from the democratic processes involving users, client liaison, designing, detailing, and tender documents to project management.
We believe that the architectural design rises from the place itself. Our projects reflect the spirit of the place, it’s character and quality. We create poetic, inspiring and functional landscapes and urban spaces, which, due to the durability of the design and the technical constructions, last over a long period of time.
GHB often participate in both open and pre-qualified competitions, where several of our projects have been awarded. Throughout the competitions we attempt to constantly develop our artistic and architectural level.
ENVIRONMENT
At GHB Landscape Architects, we invest in the future and the career of our employees. Therefore we expect each employee to be engaged in their job, and to take responsibility of their own further professional development.
We provide the best conditions for our staff possible, comprising their own private work station in an open-plan office, flexible working hours and a minimum of overtime work. We guarantee permanent employment, mentoring of all new employees, maternity leave and an employment-development-meeting for each member of staff once a year.
We believe that one of the foundations of a great working environment is using humour, inspiration and solidarity in our everyday work life.
We provide a daily lunch, where different chefs prepare today’s exotic meal.
Every year we go off on a study trip around Europe, to study the work of our colleagues in other countries.
We encourage an informal working environment for the comfort of our employees. A very important factor for us is to have an excellent communication within the office. Besides that, we hope to create an environment that inspires creativity as well as provides the possibility for contemplation.
We believe that a good leadership is the key to succeed. We believe in the strength of a well defined flat hierarchical structure with interaction between managers and employees across different skills and roles.
HISTORY
GHB Landscape Architects A/S was established in 2001 and is a continuation of the offices of Ginman Harboe Borup Landscape Architects A/S Copenhagen. The history of the office originates back to landscape architects offices of Ole Nørgaard and C. TH. Sørensen. Our extensive archive files contain material from the 1950’s and on wards.
